Skywatch Friday - Boulders @ Sunset in Hampi

Hampi amazes us every time we go there.

We were walking around Hemakuta group of temples when we were there in May this year. It was in the evening and thanks to summer rains on the previous night, temperature was bearable. Hampi is very hot during day in May with temperatures rising up to 40 degrees celsius. Sun was setting down the hill in the horizon. River Tungabhadra was looking like a silver line glistening in the evening sun.

Hampi is a photographers delight and we were clicking the pictures. Boulders, Columns and Mantapas make excellent subjects for photography and Hampi gives you ample opportunities if you look out for one. Here is one for the keeps.

I love Hampi and visited again last autumn and was shocked to see what has happened there.Once lively and bustling it now a sad place. The merchants lining the streets with all their goods , the small guesthouses were for me part of the charm of Hampi.
